Tandon, a BJP candidate from Chandigarh, believes the “Modi wave” will help him win.

Taking a dig at Congress candidate Manish Tiwari, who had contested the 2009 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana and Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, Tandon said, “Chandigarh needs a person who is one of them and who is with them in every happiness and sorrow.” Yes.” BJP has been calling Tiwari an “outsider” leader in Chandigarh, while the Congress leader has hit back saying that he has local roots.

Voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Chandigarh will be held on June 1. Counting of votes will take place on June 4. Tandon claimed that the people of Chandigarh are excited by his nomination as he is a local resident and has a connect with the people. He has started an election campaign named ‘Hamara Sanjay Tandon’. Tandon, a chartered accountant by profession, said, “I will go to every house and there will be a heart-to-heart connection.”On Tiwari’s statement that he was born and brought up in Chandigarh, the BJP leader said that it will be the people of Chandigarh who will decide who is a local resident and who is not. Tandon said, “Chandigarh needs someone who is one of them. Chandigarh needs someone who will be available for them.” He is also BJP’s co-in-charge for Himachal Pradesh. He said that the Congress-AAP alliance does not pose any challenge to the BJP in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. He said, “Politics does not run on mathematics but on equations.
