Shankaracharya’s comments on the differences between Real and Fake Kedarnath Dham vibrate from Uttarakhand to Delhi.

As everyone knows, Uttarakhand is located to the Kedarnath Temple. There are  plans on to construct a Kedarnath temple similar to this one in Delhi. Shankaracharya, sadhus, and saints are incensed by the creation of a Kedarnath replica. Even agitational threats are now being made. What is going on with the construction of Kedarnath in Delhi and the fraud at the Kedarnath temple in the foothills of the Himalayas, and what is the government’s current position on all of this? Let’s analyse all of them in depth one by one.

How come 228 kg of gold went missing?

Kedarnath was well-known for its mythology, history, and the resonating temple bells from the towering mountains. That’s where the sounds of dissent these days originate. This protest involves not just the general public but also the temple’s priests and priests. When the ire of Jyoti Math’s Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand also became apparent, the commotion had not yet dissipated. He questioned why the media was not covering his alleged gold scam at the Kedarnath temple. Why hasn’t this issue been brought up in relation to the gold scam in Kedarnath? Following the fraud there, Kedarnath is currently being built in Delhi, and another fraud is likely to occur there as well. There is 228 kilogram of missing gold in Kedarnath. No inquiry was launched. Who has the blame for this?

On the allegations, what did BKTC say?

The gold scam that Shankaracharya is referring to came into discussion in June 2023. Kedarnath temple senior priest Santosh Trivedi alleged that gold worth Rs 125 crore was plated on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Some donor had donated this gold. It was installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple in 2005. But now that gold turned into brass. He blamed this on the officials of Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). BKTC termed these allegations as baseless. He said that this was a conspiracy to defame the temple management. Will take legal action against those involved in this.

Why is Kedarnath causing such a stir?

The holy Kedarnath Dham of Lord Bholenath is situated amidst the high hills. This grand temple is in Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand. Preparations are being made to build a temple similar to Kedarnath in the country’s capital Delhi also. The model of the temple looks exactly like Kedarnath temple. The design and color of the temple will also be similar to that of Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand. The interesting thing is that there is a proposal to name this temple as Kedarnath Dham. It is being built in Burari area of Delhi. Bhoomi pujan of duplicate Kedarnath Dham has also been done. On July 10, Bhoomi Pujan of the temple located at Burari was done in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Minister of State for Road Transport Ajay Tamta, many MPs and saints.

What does the Trust have to say in the whole matter?

In Burari, Delhi, a three-acre plot of land will become the Kedarnath Dham temple. For this, a trust has also been established. The Trust asserts that the nation already has temples constructed that resemble Kedarnath and Badrinath. In Indore, a pandal akin to Kedarnath was created. However, that was just momentary. A temple modeled after Mumbai’s Badrinath temple has been constructed. However, this is a temple, not a pandal. The Trust questions why there is opposition to the Delhi temple when there are already comparable temples across the nation, such as the Kedarnath-Badrinath temple. According to Surendra Rautela, President of the Trust, the Kedarnath temple that will be erected in Delhi is a temple, not a Dham. The government of Uttarakhand is not involved in it.Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, came for the temple’s Bhoomi Pujan at our request. With the help of trustees, many of whom are from Uttarakhand, the temple was constructed.

After putting the foundation stone, was Dhami stuck?

Uttarakhand is angry about the proposed construction of the Kedarnath temple in Delhi. Outside the Kedarnath Dham temple in Uttarakhand, temple priests, locals, and businesspeople are demonstrating against the building of Kedarnath Dham in Delhi. Perhaps this is the first time that Kedarnath has witnessed such sloganeering. There would be unrest throughout the entire Kedar Valley if the building of Kedarnath Dham in Delhi is not halted, the priests of Kedarnath have warned. The construction of a temple similar to Kedarnath in Delhi infuriates Shankaracharya as well. Following his attendance at the Bhoomi Pujan in Delhi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has come under fire. He has now made it clear that building a temple similar to Kedarnath won’t diminish people’s confidence in Kedarnath.
