Modi government can make major changes in Waqf Act, bill will be presented in Parliament today

The Waqf Act was enacted in 1954. This Act was made regarding the maintenance of Waqf Board property, after which changes were also made in the rules. Now Modi government has planned to make comprehensive changes in this Act. A bill will be presented in Parliament on August 5 regarding major amendments in this Act. The amended bill has been discussed in detail in the cabinet meeting. 40 amendments have been approved in the Act.

There will be a ban on creating waqf property

The changes made in the Waqf Act by the Central Government will restrict the Board from having the right to convert any property into Waqf property. After 40 amendments to be made in the Act, the claims made on the properties of the Waqf Board will be verified. Along with this, a proposal has also been made in the bill for mandatory verification regarding the disputed properties of the board.

The bill to remove Section 370 was also presented on August 5 itself.

Modi government thinks of making big changes on the date of 5th August itself. In 2019, on August 5, the bill to remove Section 370 was presented in the Parliament. Along with this, in 2020 also, Bhoomi Pujan was performed for the construction of Ram temple on the same date. Now it is being said that the amendment bill in Waqf Act will also be presented tomorrow itself. However, after presenting this proposal in Parliament, it is certain that there will be an uproar.

The central government had raised questions earlier also
Questions have previously been raised by the Central Government to curb the rights of the Waqf Board to claim any property. The government had also considered involving district magistrates to monitor Waqf properties to prevent misuse of the property, but no amendment could be made to this Act. This time the Modi government will present a bill in Parliament to make changes in the Act.
