CM Atishi and her Ministers’ visit to Lok Sabha constituencies to identy broken roads is just a drama—Devender Yadav
NEW DELHI, September 30, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that it was strange that the Aam Aadmi Party Government was unaware of the broken and potholed roads in the Capital till former Chief Minister Kejriwal, who is now a free bird without holding any responsibility after quitting the top job when he was granted bail by the Supreme Court in the liquor scam case with stringent conditions, wrote a letter to incumbent Atishi expressing “concern” over the “pathetic condition” of Delhi roads, which was mere drama to mislead the people. He said that Kejriwal also urged Atishi to start repair work of the dilapidated roads on a “war footing”, and she in turn gave the responsibility of identifying the broken roads to her Ministers in the Lok Sabha constituencies allotted to them, which raises a pertinent question as to what were these Ministers and the AAP MLAs doing in the past 12 years? Were they not living in Delhi, and aware of the plight of the people when over 40 people died by drowning and electrocution this monsoon, and the broken roads generated dust and soot after the rains withdrew to add to the air pollution?
Shri Devender Yadav said that Kejriwal was only trying to stay in the limelight and stay put in the CM residence for as long as he can by raising the issues he should have addressed when he was the CM, as he knows very well that the dummy CM Atishi and the incompetent and inefficient Ministers were incapable of getting the broken roads repaired in the next four months, before the Assembly elections. He said that Kejriwal’s strategy was to pass on the blame of the condition of the dilapidated roads and other problems of Delhi to Atishi and her Cabinet, which he himself had neglected over the years when he was CM.
Shri Devender Yadav said that it was surprising that Kejriwal was shamelessly making false promises about the so-called “Delhi model” of development to the people of Haryana as telling blatant lies have become a habit with him.
Shri Devender Yadav wondered why the AAP Government waited till the election year to give attention to the broken roads as these roads should have been recarpeted as a matter of routine by the PWD under the Delhi Government.. He said that in the year 2023-24, Rs 400 crore had been allotted under the CM Road Repair Plan but only Rs 125 crore was spent, and it was no surprise that roads of the Capital turned into virtual dust bowl creating not only dust pollution, but also accidents.
Shri Devender Yadav said that Kejriwal was in league with the BJP and the Delhi Developent Authority in uprooting people living in the JJ clusters despite the fact over 45,000 flats constructred for resettling the poor have been lying vacant and deteriorating as the AAP Government has not taken any initiative to allot these flats to the slum dwellers.
Shri Devender Yadav said that Kejriwal was taking credit for the works he never undertook to the “Delhi model of education and health”, as both these sectors were under terrible conditions, with the Atishi Government only indulging in empty rhetoric.
