144 roads closed in Himachal, 77 killed, warning of heavy rain till August 7

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert that heavy rains will continue in the state till August 7. Rescue operations are being conducted throughout Himachal.

The State Emergency Operation Center said 36 roads have been closed in Mandi due to danger and adverse conditions. 34 roads are closed in Kullu, 27 roads in Shimla, 8 roads in Lahaul-Spiti, 7 roads in Kangra and two roads in Kinnaur district. Himachal State Road Transport Corporation said that bus service has been suspended on 82 routes.

Rescue teams are searching for 45 missing people


Cloud burst caused floods in many areas in Nirmand, Sainj and Malana of Kullu. At least 8 people died due to cloud burst. 45 people missing after cloud burst. Their search started again on Saturday morning. 410 rescue personnel from teams of Indian Army, NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, CISF, Himachal Police and Home Guards are engaged in the search operation with the help of drones.
